Olsen Joly is a 700 meter squared uniquely shaped wood framed office building in the expanded Gasoline Alley subdivision of Red Deer. The building owners, a well-established accounting firm, specifically asked for a design that would make them stand out from their neighbors without appearing ostentatious. The resulting design meets their needs of modern, comfortable office space for 20 staff while presenting an artistic, forward thinking look to the general public. It contains both a large and small boardroom, large lunch room for staff, spacious offices for client meetings, and a green space at the back of the building designed for staff barbeques and lunch gatherings. Because the building was originally under-budget, additional items such as in-slab heating and an irrigation system for the property were added to maximize the value of the property for the owner.
